Where Red Meets Blue

A "found abstract": the concrete foot of a temporary gate opposite our home had an interesting colours pattern.

Golden years ahead

Captured a new shot in the CoolArt series, shooting reflections of my wife's colourful paintings in an aluminium cool bag (or a crumpled foil).

Whirls

It's been a while, but here is a shot I took a few weeks ago in the Kampen City Museum. A close up of a glass art piece that works well as an abstract I think.

Aperture: f/5.6
Focal length: 145 mm
Exposure time: 1/30
ISO speed: 400

Unparallel lines

The second of two abstract shots I took at a local sundial near the Koornmarktpoort in Kampen. Very pleased with both of them.

Chains 2020

Nothing special, just another chains shot I needed for my art blog. I can't even remember where I took this one - most likely in Kampen, on one of the tall ships moored there.

Aperture: f/4.5
Focal length: 9.7 mm
Exposure time: 1/4000
ISO speed: 200

Pastoral

Not my usual fare, but there you go. I spotted this opportunity in the Kampen citypark (in walking distance from our home).

Woodwork

This one is also in Kampen, a door that had been prepared for re-painting. I like the combination of shapes, textures and colours.

Hang in there

Walking along the IJssel in the city of Kampen is always interesting, because the boats change often, and sometimes one can spot nice details, as in this shot.

The Blue Rain

The same spot in the same park as the previous picture. This is the wisteria, which in Dutch is known as Blauweregen (Blue rain).

Leaving the wet behind

In the Kampen park. Thus bird (a goose variation) just came out of the water while we were walking by.

Trident

One of the bridges across the IJssel near Kampen. I picked a viewpoint where it looks like there's only three pylons instead of four. Oh well, I thought it made for an interesting shot.

Line play

The tall ships moored at the river side in Kampen always make for nice photography opportunities - especially in combination with the nice weather we've been having. This was taken in walking distance from our home.

Springmill

Normally I'm not keen on taking flower or blossom pictures, but I thought the combination with the windmill was interesting. This is in nearby Zalk.

Zalk chains

My last update was in November 2019. Since then my photography has gone through a dry spell for various reasons, the last months of course also due to the Corona crisis. Last week I took two pictures in Zalk near Kampen that I want to share. This chains shot is nothing special, but I can use it for the links section of my art blog.

Through the looking glass - Van Gogh

Maybe a once-off, maybe the first of a series. This is van Gogh's famous painting Wheatfield with crows (as seen on my laptop), photographed through the bottom of a whisky glass for a surreal effect.
