Flickr archives: 2015

Decoration. A Christmas decoration that made for a nice abstract, with a strong diagonal set off against layers of curves.

Safety net. I encountered this net at the Koggewerf, a part near the harbour where many boat-related activities take place. Lots of positive responses.

Curved abstraction. A little playground in the centre of Kampen has a device where you throw a ball (basketball style) in the top, and it can come out at different places. Not sure if it's fun, but it does make for a good abstract.

Concentric. One of my most successful shots of the year. The ceiling of the Eusebius Church in Arnhem. The metal center point is actually a light hanging from the ceiling. Explored (#217).

Field trip. How cliche can you get? Tulip fields near Emmeloord. I only include this because it got faved a lot.

Tour de Kampen. A digital merger of seven photographs taken during the start of the local bicycle race. I love the result, one of my favourite shots of the year.

Obscured by clouds. A minimalistic shot, but well-composed and with an interesting sky as background. This is at the van Heutz parking space in the centre of Kampen.

Es werde Licht. Stained glass window at a church in Osnabruck, Germany. Another example of a shot that  include based on faves, not based on my own preferences.

Symphony in red, blue and green. And another one - but the colours combination appealed to a lot of people. This was at a roundabout in Kampen.

Breakthrough. Fortunately a shot that appealed both to the Flickr audience and myself. At this time, the old van Heutz building in Kampen that had housed army regiments for training until a few decades ago, was being revamped to house the library and various offices. On an "open day" we could go in and have a look at the progress.

Splash. Taken the same day in the same building. Just some paint splashes on a white wall. Yet, it makes a satisfactory abstract image.

Art abstraction. A detail of an art installation exhibited in the local museum. The reflected parallel lines are a nice touch.

Whirling. A special design light in an interior decoration shop in Naarden. I love the colour, the light and the patterns created by the light's components.

Naarden church ceiling. This is the ceiling of the church in Naarden that is famous for the yearly concert of Bach's St. Matthew's Passion. Not bad, but I only include it because lots of people faved it.

Golden light. Another special light seen in the same interior decoration shop in Naarden.

Abstraction in felt. A close-up of one of my wife's hand-made scarves. As one Flickr friend noted: It looks organic, almost like blood vessels.

An aquatic ballet. One of my better and more popular water reflection abstracts of the year. Can't remember where I took this, but given the month (November) most likely Kampen. And that's the last image that I wanted to save from 2015 - not the best year for my photography.
